Indian Premier League Regional Language Commentary: The 2023 season will see numerous firsts for the league. The tournament will be shown separately for the first time by Disney Star on TV and Viacom18 on digital platforms. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has also declared that commentary in regional languages would now be required for the broadcasters, thus that is not the only change in terms of broadcasting:
Regional Language Commentary for the IPL.
The BCCI has reminded the broadcasters that in addition to English, they must also give commentary in four regional languages, one of which being Hindi, according to a report by Cricbuzz.
The board has also said that the broadcasters themselves would be responsible for covering the operational costs of commentary in Hindi and the other three regional languages.
On the other hand, the BCCI itself will supply the English commentary stream. As a result, the commentary teams for the regional languages will change, even if the English commentary will be the same on Disney Star and Viacom18’s live broadcast.

This condition also applies to the transmission and live webcast of auctions in addition to the actual contests. The sale of the four packages brought in a total of Rs 48,390 crore for the BCCI. Disney Star received Package A, Viacom18 acquired Packages B and C, and Times Internet obtained Package D.
