What is Medi Assist?
Medi Assist, is a TPA and a premier healthcare management company, that introduced MediBuddy, a mobile app that allows customers to manage all of their healthcare requirements through their cellphones.
Cashless Hospitalization Procedure
Only the Medi Assist network of hospitals offers cashless hospitalization. The following is the general procedure for obtaining cashless hospitalization:
- Inform Medi Assist about your hospitalization.
- Present your Medi Assist e-card, together with any other legally approved identity card, at the hospital during admission.
- Ensure that your pre-authorization form is sent to Medi Assist by the hospital.
- Use MediBuddy Online or Mobile to track your claim in real time.
- Medi Assist transmits the authorization to the hospital.
- Additional enhancement permissions may be granted on request, according to the policy’s terms and restrictions.
- If the request is denied or the expenditures are not covered by your coverage, you must pay the hospital bill in full and then file a reimbursement claim after release.
- It should be noted that denial of a preauthorization request does not imply refusal of treatment or coverage. Following discharge, the hospital will provide all documentation pertaining to your claim to Medi Assist for settlement.

Time Limit for Pre-Authorization

- If your claim is refused, a rejection letter is issued to you through courier / post / e-mail, stating the reason for the denial of your claim.
Claim Reimbursement Documents
The following papers must be submitted in order to claim a reimbursement:
- The original hospital’s ultimate bill.
- Original, numbered receipts for hospital payments.
- Complete dissection of the hospital bill.
- The original discharge summary
- All original investigative reports, as well as prescriptions
- All original medication invoices, including appropriate prescriptions.
- The original, signed claim form.
- A copy of the Medi Assist ID card or a copy of the current policy, as well as copies of prior years’ policies (if applicable).

The final claim form, along with the hospital receipt, bills, cash memos, and list of documents mentioned on the claim form, must be submitted to Medi Assist within 30 (thirty) days following release from the hospital. Though after obtaining all needed papers, the claim is processed in 15 working days and paid in 7 working days.
After-Claim Sum Insured Amount
For the remainder of the insurance year, the total covered is decreased by the amount of the claim paid.
If your claim exceeds the amounts covered, you must pay the difference.
If the documents currently supplied are inadequate for further validation of the existing claim, shortfall papers are generated.
They must be provided within ten business days after receiving the e-mail informing you of insufficient documents.
If you have an individual policy, you can send the shortfall papers to the Medi Assist location nearest you. If you are a corporate employee, simply send them on to the appropriate helpdesk representative.

What should you do in preparation for a Health Checkup?

- During menstruation, women should not get their health checked.
- Pregnant women should avoid having an X-ray.
